The magic happens in your kitchen…

Oh yes, you read it right….I don’t remember when I first fell in love with cooking, but I know once it happened it was for eternity. I bet everyone has heard that love comes from the stomach, and I’m telling you that is so true. Try not to eat and you’ll see by yourself that very soon you’ll become the most unhappiest person. Growing up I didn’t know that I would become obsessed with cooking, and the only thing I knew was that I wanted to be just like her, my mom. I felt that cooking was fun even though most of the time I felt like an intruder than a helper to my mom. I always thought that by wearing that white uniform I would immediately become a cooker who would just go in the kitchen and make wonders. I am telling you there is no magic fairy wand for that.

“Cooking is like painting or writing a song. Just as there are only so many notes or colors, there are only so many flavors — it’s how you combine them that sets you apart.”

First you need years to become a cooker and then more years to become a good one. The second is that you really need to bear the scars of your kitchen creations like medals. More you have better you are. Sometimes I am so proud and I show them to everyone that comes in my kitchen to taste my recipes and sometimes I just want to bury them under my sleeves. But I’m telling you I just adore it. Believe me I can loose myself in the rituals of chopping, stirring and tasting. It’s an art, and you own it. It is your masterpiece. No one can create the exact copy of it. Use your imagination and play with the ingredients, and ‘’voila”. Your own personal creation. You may choose to share it or you may keep it as your own little secret recipe. It’s an act of pure love no doubts. I always wanted to cook for my loved ones their favorite dishes, and I am telling you the expression of their face when they taste it worths the trouble. Trust me once you try it and give your all you will never go back. Enjoy…
